After the surgery (hip replacement), I felt some lack of confidence in doing some basic day-to-day movements. The yoga therapy allowed, through the practice of safe movements suggested by Leonor, to undertake movements in a much more efficient way and with more psychological comfort. Furthermore, the breathing exercises and the meditation reduced my restlessness and were paramount for me to feel stronger and more aware of my body.

Thank you for everything and I can only thank you for all the teachings, availability and love that you have always shared. Practicing yoga over these months has allowed me to be more aware and have greater control over my body. In situations of greater stress, discomfort, physical and emotional pain, breathing allowed me calming down and gaining strength to overcome difficulties.
I particularly like the metaphors associated with postures (e.g. trees/warriors...) they help me rooting and feeling the power of the mind in the body. Physically, doing the practice on a weekly basis helped me feeling less pain and having more flexibility, since I have been more sedentary than before.
I felt that throughout this process I became stronger and the practices of yoga provided me with valuable tools to face the challenges I experience on a daily basis.

At the beginning of the sessions, I was very depressed, lost, without resources to deal with my sadness, to get out of the pit of suffering in which I found myself. The sessions (initially outside and more active, like walking) helped me to come back to earth, to open myself to the world. Little by little, I began to feel less restless and anxious. In the last few sessions, I became able to relax to the point of falling asleep (a very good and unthinkable sensation), to see good things in myself that were buried by a very low self-esteem, and to perceive beautiful things around me. Black began to be replaced by colourful tones. From this moment, these feelings grew until today. I feel well and calm. Thank you 🙂

I would like to leave my testimony here to help people who are still unsure about the use and application of yoga therapy in their lives. I was unaware of it too!
All the sessions started with a friendly conversation, where there was always a concern to ask how I was doing. This made me realize that I wasn’t following a general program or a fixed schedule, it was very personal, focused on me, my week, and that specific moment, which was wonderful! One of my main goals in these sessions was to learn how to calm myself during situations that caused me panic attacks/tachycardia. We worked a lot on breathing to resolve that, which I now try to use in those situations. I feel that I could benefit from more sessions, not only to control my physiological symptoms, which I still have some difficulty managing, but also to prevent the onset of these situations.
The most impressive part of all the sessions was the relaxation moment at the end, which was so calm and so energetic at the same time that I don’t have the words to describe it. It created in me a feeling of gratitude, love, and peace. This was the first time I tried yoga therapy, and I think it’s a wonderful and powerful tool that can greatly ease some difficult moments in our lives.
